I don't know how new it is, but this little dish is happiness itself!

 I love the depth in this pendant. Shows that the wearer has deep passion.

and these little houses are so eclectic and scrumptious you'll have to get them all!

Paying Debts

I have debts. I'm sure you have debts.

maybe not, I don't REALLY know you.

Some are serious and some are not so.
And some are personal debts: something that you owe a friend because you value that person.
This is about a personal debt.

A while back, I sold three pairs of earrings to a friend of mine back home.

After she recieved them, she sent me 'a bunch of beads she wasn't going to use', and that she figured I 'could do something with.'

I was so surprised when I received an adorable little black box in the mail, and when I opened it...

it was stuffed with so, so, sooooo many great things!!

Opals, pearls, coral, even gold wire.

It was a little treasure chest.

spectacular.

I'm sorry that I don't have any pics to share of the experience.

What I do have to share are a couple of the earrings that I've made her as a thank you.

To repay my debt to her.

Good Morning!

Today is Craft Party Day at Etsy.

 

To celebrate their 6th anniversary, they have encouraged sellers to organize craft parties with other sellers in their area. Get to know other sellers, eat some yummy goodies and learn a new craft!

So fun!

In celebration of the celebration, I thought that I would feature 'crafters'.

In art school there is always the debate: what is craft and what is art?

I think that craft is in the practice: Everyday you sketch, sew, shape metal or wood, and then your personality comes through and there is the art. Some people do this more easily than others.

All Things Orange

Today's all about orange! (and reds and greys and greens that go with orange)

I am the only person, I know, who loves to shop for orange, and today I have definitely got it on the brain!

I've been working with copper wire alot lately,

and I've always loved coral, aquamarine and turquoise,
so it just made sense to put these elements together,

 with a little chalcedony for good measure!
As you can see, I rarely make symmetrical things,
but I recently discovered an etsy artist who takes asymmetrical to a whole new, wonderful level:

I just love it too much!

I it made from a gaudy, gaudy bracelet that my mom brought back on her last trip to Spain.
(It wasn't even Gaudi, I swear)
